Using your eSIM abroad

Two settings to change when you land, and how to keep your WhatsApp number.

When you land

  1. 1Turn on the Aebello line and choose it for mobile data.
  2. 2Turn on Data Roaming for the Aebello line. This is normal for travel eSIMs and does not cost extra.
  3. 3Give it a minute to connect to a local network.

Keep your number

Aebello eSIMs are data only. Your usual SIM keeps your phone number, so WhatsApp, iMessage and banking texts carry on as normal.

To avoid roaming charges from your home carrier, turn off Data Roaming on your usual line. You can leave the line itself on to receive calls and texts.

Not connecting?

  • Check that Data Roaming is on for the Aebello line.
  • Restart your phone, or switch Airplane mode on and off.
  • In network settings, turn off automatic network selection and pick a network listed on your plan.
